Saturday, Shell came over so that we could make headway begin cleaning alpaca fleeces. She has 3+ lbs of alpaca, and I, 2+ and all of it really hasn't been touched. We figured we'd be more likely to work on our respective fleeces if we did them together.
We set up in the carport and sat down to start picking through the fleeces before washing.
Atlas helped out by being the "alpaca inspector"...
This bit was below his standards.
He also doubled as a guard for the unusable fibers.
At the end of 4 hours, each of us managed to make it through just over 4 oz of fiber. Hopefully some time this coming week we will be able to get together again and plow through more.
