She cussed loudly at the counter full of groceries still in the bags while the husband yanked the fridge away from the wall to see if it was still plugged in. The web was frantically searched for a cheap (cheap like under $300 cheap) replacement that fit the dimensions of the old, piece of crap, broken down monstrosity that currently sat in the center of their kitchen.
Phone calls were made to various locations to inquire about a certain model that was found online, but alas the same model was only available in white and the husband was set on steel.
Other plans discussed included sending the remaining leftovers to a sibling and ordering take-out until a new fridge arrived, dining at the parents, or borrowing a mini-fridge that a friend would loan them. In the end, the wife convinced the husband that in the end a steel fridge would not matter and any fridge could be sold with the house so long as it worked.
The piece of crap monstrosity
So husband and the sister's boyfriend set out to locate and bring back a working fridge, under a set price, regardless of color.
Will they be able to find something that fits their needs or will they be doomed to eat take-out forever?
So much for the minimizing purchases in July! Looks like we're off to a great start! :(
